Iceland Trip – Days 4 & 5!
Day 4 was packed with adventure! We explored a fascinating lava tunnel, enjoyed a fantastic visit to Reykjavík and rounded off the day with some friendly competition at the bowling alley, followed by a relaxing dip in the hotel swimming pool.
Day 5 saw us wave goodbye to Iceland after an unforgettable experience and a safe journey home.
It has been an outstanding trip with an outstanding group of students. They have been a credit to themselves, their families and the school throughout. Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a memorable experience!

Making a Difference in Our Community!
We are incredibly proud of our Head Boy and Head Girl, who have been showing what it means to be caring, responsible and community-minded by donating food to the local food bank in Golborne.
Their kindness and commitment to helping others will make a real difference to families in our community. They are fantastic role models and a wonderful example of our school values in action.

Golborne and Lowton Foodbank is based at All Saints Church, High Street, Golborne, WA3 3BG. It operates as part of the `Food Share` programme

The food bank is open on Friday mornings from 10-12pm. Telephone 01942 273851
If you require a food parcel you need a referral form and that can be obtained from a local councillor, Citizens` Advice, a job centre and schools. Recipients are entitled to 5 weeks of food parcels per referral.
A Gift to Inspire a Love of Reading!
A huge thank you to the Society of St Vincent de Paul (SVP) at St Lewis’ Church, Croft, for their incredibly generous donation of a book to every one of our Year 2 children!
As part of SVP’s wonderful initiative to encourage a lifelong love of reading, each child received their very own book to take home and treasure. There were lots of smiles as the children chose and explored their new stories, and we are so grateful for this thoughtful gift.
Thank you, SVP, for helping to spark imaginations, inspire young readers, and support our children on their reading journey!

Year 7 Champions
Congratulations to Ed, Alfie, Ollie, Fin and Will on helping Shevington FC Blues U12s become Warrington Junior Football League Division 2 Champions!
A fantastic season saw the team win 15 games, draw 4 and lose just once, before sealing the title with an impressive 8–1 victory in their final match.

What an amazing Sports Day for our Upper Key Stage 2 children!
We are incredibly proud of every single pupil for the determination, teamwork and resilience they showed in all of their events. From the races to the field activities, everyone gave their absolute best and represented our school brilliantly.
A special mention goes to our wonderful Year 6 pupils, who took part in their final Sports Day with us. Not only did they perform fantastically in their own events, but they were also outstanding role models throughout the week, helping to support and encourage our Early Years and Lower Key Stage 2 children during their Sports Day events.
Year 6, your kindness, leadership and enthusiasm have shone through all week, and we couldn`t be prouder of the example you have set.

Standish High Talent Shines on Stage!
We are incredibly proud of our talented students who recently performed in the Dancesteps Let’s Dance 2026 show at the Blackburn Empire Theatre.
Featuring themes from Six the Musical, Wicked and The Great Gatsby, alongside a range of dance styles, the show showcased the passion, dedication and versatility of our students. A huge congratulations to all who took part and represented Standish Community High School so brilliantly.
Their outstanding performances are the result of years of hard work, commitment and teamwork, and reflect the resilience and determination they demonstrate every day in school.
