I am currently the headteacher of a successful local primary school and have dedicated the past 24 years to education. Throughout my career, I have taught and led in a variety of schools across Newcastle, London and Wigan, giving me a broad understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing schools and communities in different contexts.

Alongside my professional experience, I have served on Local Governing Boards for both nursery and primary schools, developing a strong appreciation of the importance of effective governance in supporting educational excellence and ensuring positive outcomes for children and families.

Originally from Wigan, I am a proud parent of two children, one of whom attends Standish Community High School. My own early life experiences were shaped by deprivation and the challenges of growing up within a split family. These experiences have given me a deep belief in the transformative power of education and its ability to provide life chances, raise aspirations and create pathways to future success.

As a Trustee, I am passionate about ensuring that every child, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to high-quality education and the opportunities needed to thrive, achieve and fulfil their potential.
