I am a Borough Councillor, sitting on Chorley Borough Council, representing a ward to the south of Chorley, bordering both the West Lancashire and Wigan authority areas. In this role I have contact with people and the issues that are important to them. I actively campaign and lobby our MPs, council officers and relevant organisations to get the best possible outcomes for any issues that residents may have. I am Chair of the Governance Committee on Chorley Borough Council with responsibility for ensuring the organisational process and financial governance is correct and that the standards regime is adhered to.
I work within industry as a Lean Manufacturing specialist which involves reducing cost, ensuring delivery is achieved whilst maintaining levels of quality that are acceptable to the customer, this involves change management and improving production processes through focusing on customer requirements.
Lifelong learning is something I believe should be encouraged, as it is no longer sufficient for people to leave education with the only qualifications they will ever need, to this end I have taught at Further and Higher Education Level and have, more recently, established an NVQ assessment centre delivering Business Improvement Techniques NVQs.
My motivation as a founder member of the Trust is to ensure that everyone, within the trust, has the opportunity to be the best they can be and that the trust exists to benefit the communities it serves.
